I would like to welcome you all to the 2020-2021 school year. Thank you for putting your trust in us daily to educate and keep your child safe. Your patience and support through what could be a very interesting year is greatly appreciated. Please contact me with any questions/concerns you may have as we get through this together.
Our daily routine at Sulphur Intermediate will look a little different. The school day will be from 8:00-3:10. Students may enter the building beginning at 7:45. We will not be using the playground for recess before school begins. Breakfast is still available at the HS cafeteria. They will open at 7:30 each morning. Students will have a grade level lunchtime, with grade level recess being scheduled later in the afternoon. 4th grade lunch 10:40-11:25, 5th grade 10:55-11:10, 3rd grade 11:10-11:25. Building access will be very limited. If you need to drop something off, please call and we will meet you at the door. If you need to speak with me, please call and make an appointment. I expect that my duties will look much different this year and want to make myself available if you need to speak with me.
Students and Staff are encouraged to wear a mask when they are unable to meet the social distancing guidelines. Please send them with a clean, comfortable mask daily. Students will be provided with a water bottle for daily use. They may also bring their own personal water bottle. Please make sure their name is written clearly before sending it to school.
Students will attend P.E. and Music by class. Each coach/teacher will be responsible for a class and will keep them separate from other classes the majority of the time. Students will have a grade level recess each afternoon. This will be limited to less than 15 minutes.
The Intermediate School will dismiss at 3:10. Early checkout will also be very limited. PLEASE call ahead if you need to get your child early. We will ask that you wait out front. We will come out with your child and have you sign them out.
Thank you for working with us through these unusual times. We will do everything we can control to make this a great school year for your child. Please keep open communication with your child’s teacher and share your concerns before they reach the frustration point. I promise you each of us have your child in mind with every decision we make.
