After graduating from Owasso High School in 1977, I embarked on a career in communications. I spent 24 years as a design engineer before enrolling in college at the University of Central Oklahoma. I graduated from UCO in 2006.
I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics. I have certifications in Advanced Mathematics and Middle School Social Studies.
This is my first year in Sulphur Public Schools and I am teaching 8th grade Pre-Algebra.
After 24 years as a design engineer in telecommunications, I was called to the public school classroom. This is my 15th year in the classroom and there hasn’t been a single day that I didn’t want to come to school.
I began my teaching career in 2006 at Cheyenne Middle School in Edmond as a 7th grade math teacher. After 8 years, I moved up to 8th grade, teaching Pre-Algebra, Algebra and Geometry. Three years later, I moved to Edmond North High School to teach Algebra and Geometry.
My wife, Kari and I have been married since 1994, although we’ve known each other since 9th grade (1973). Together we have 4 children and 5 grandchildren. All four of our children graduated from Edmond North High School. Three of them still live there with 4 of the grandchildren. Our only daughter lives in Springer with our 5th grandchild.
When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my wife doing anything, watching the grandchildren in their activities and working to make our property as beautiful as possible.
