I attended high school at Choctaw High School in Choctaw, OK.
Three generations of my family have graduated from Choctaw.
I attended college at Oklahoma City University and Oklahoma State University.
I received a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education with a vocal emphasis from Oklahoma City University and a Master’s degree in Vocal Pedagogy and Performance from Oklahoma State University.
Over the summer, Jennie and I attended the Sing-a-bration music conference in Denton, TX. We learned tons of new music.
I also attended the Oklahoma Choral Director’s Summer Conference.
I am starting my 2nd year as the vocal director here at Sulphur and I am very excited to be here.
I currently teach all the vocal music classes for middle and high school.
I also teach a high school music history class.
I started my career as a teacher at Choctaw-Nicoma Park School District.
I taught at Nicoma Park Elementary, Nicoma Park Middle School and Choctaw High School. From there, I went back to college full time and was a Teaching Assistant at Oklahoma State University.
After graduating with my master’s degree from OSU, I moved to far west Oklahoma to a very tiny town, Reydon. I started a music program at their school and taught there for 3 years.
I moved from there to Marlow and was the middle and high school choir director there for 2 years and from there, I moved here to Sulphur.
