I graduated from Byng High School in May of 2002. I then went to East Central University and graduated in December of 2006 with a Bachelor of Science degree for Early Childhood Pre K- 3rd grade. While teaching Kindergarten, I had a desire to help struggling students of all ages and second language students learn to read which took me on a new journey. I attended South Eastern University in Durant and graduated in May 2010 with a Masters Degree for Reading Specialist Pre K- 12th grade. This summer I began my newest adventure as I was accepted into the Structured Multisensory Language Foundations (SMLF) program through PAYNE Education. Through my after school tutoring services I am able to help students who are struggling with dyslexia. For these students, I am now utilizing Take Flight: this is a Comprehensive Intervention for Students with Dyslexia program which was developed at the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital along with PAYNE Education materials and resources.
I have been married to my wonderful husband Jimmy since 2007. We have 3 young fun loving children and live on a family owned and opporated cattle ranch.
When I am not teaching, I love spending time with my children and my husband. We enjoy a lot of outdoor time and fishing. We love art projects and are actively involved in our church.
